Common Fixture Problems We Fix
Plumbing fixtures get used every day, so wear is normal. The key is catching problems before a small drip becomes water damage or a high water bill. These are the issues we see most often:
- Dripping faucets caused by worn cartridges, washers, or seals
- Low flow at a faucet or showerhead from mineral buildup in aerators and heads
- Leaks under sinks at supply lines, drain connections, or shut-off valves
- Shower valves that will not hold temperature or are hard to turn
- Tub spouts that leak or will not divert water to the showerhead
- Outdoor hose bibbs that drip, stick, or were damaged in a freeze
Hard water is a big factor here. Minerals collect inside faucets, valves, and showerheads, which wears out seals faster and can make a fixture seem like it has a pressure problem. Occasional hard freezes can also crack outdoor hose bibbs and exposed piping. If a leak is hidden or you are not sure where water is coming from, our leak detection and repair service can find it.
Repair or Replace a Plumbing Fixture?
Many fixtures can be repaired with a new cartridge, washer, or seal, which is often the quickest and most affordable fix. Repair makes sense when the fixture is in good condition and parts are available.
Replacement is usually the better choice when a fixture is corroded, has leaked more than once, uses parts that are hard to find, or no longer matches how you use the space. It is also a good time to upgrade to a more water-efficient model. Our technician will tell you honestly which option makes sense, and we check the shut-off valves and supply lines while we are there, since old valves can fail when they are disturbed.
A few questions can help you decide: How old is the fixture? Has it been repaired before? Is it leaking onto a cabinet floor or into a wall? Does it still suit the way your household uses the kitchen or bathroom? If most of your answers point toward age and repeat problems, replacement is likely the smarter spend. If the fixture is fairly new and the issue is a single worn part, a repair will usually get you back to normal.
What to Expect From Your Fixture Service Visit
Every fixture call follows the same four steps:
- Contact: Call (817) 405-4575 or book online. If you bought a fixture yourself, share the make and model so we can confirm fit.
- Assessment: A licensed technician inspects the fixture, valves, and connections to find the cause of the problem. For installations, they confirm the new fixture fits your sink, counter, or wall valve.
- Approval and pricing: You get a flat-rate price for the repair or installation before any work begins.
- Service and follow-up: We complete the work, test for leaks and proper operation, clean up, and follow up to confirm everything is working.
If you have several small issues, like a dripping faucet and a running toilet, mention them when you schedule so we can handle them in one visit. Grouping small repairs together saves you from scheduling several appointments, and it gives the technician a chance to spot worn valves or supply lines before they start leaking.
