A Kennedale Plumber Who Knows Your Water Is Different
Kennedale's tap water is not the same as its neighbors'. According to the city's 2025 water quality report, the supply is a blend of groundwater from four city wells tapping the Trinity Aquifer and treated lake water bought from Fort Worth and Arlington. That mix carries a lot of dissolved minerals, and it affects water heaters, fixtures and filters in ways a plumber in Kennedale should plan for.
Kennedale is also a town of contrasts. Some of its oldest houses were built before the city's sewer lines arrived in the early 1960s, while homes in newer subdivisions were plumbed within the last few years. We inspect before we quote so the fix fits the home.
HAT Plumbing, Heating & Air is based on Pebble Drive in northeast Fort Worth and serves Kennedale homes from the older streets off Kennedale Parkway to new construction along Collett Sublett Rd. We fix leaks, replace water heaters, clear drains and handle sewer and water line work.

Plumbing Services in Kennedale
These are the services Kennedale homeowners tend to need most, and why:
- Water heaters: high dissolved solids in the well blend leave deposits in tanks, and some local homes have gas heaters in the attic that need careful replacement.
- Tankless water heaters: a space-saving upgrade, paired with regular descaling on mineral-rich water.
- Water filtration: treatment options for chloramine taste, dissolved minerals and fluoride that occurs naturally in the well water.
- Water line service: repair or replacement of aging service lines in parts of town that got city water in the 1950s.
- Sewer services: camera inspection and repair on lines that may date back to the early 1960s sewer buildout.
- Leak detection: tracking down hidden leaks under slabs and inside walls.
- Fixture repairs and installation: faucets, sinks and showers, including the mineral spotting and buildup that come with this water.
Water quality and aging lines drive much of the work in town, since Kennedale mixes decades-old homes with brand new ones. Need AC or heating help too? See our Kennedale HVAC services.

What Kennedale Homes Are Up Against
- A well and lake blend: Kennedale's four wells pull from the Twin Mountains, Travis Peak and Paluxy formations of the Trinity Aquifer, and the city also buys surface water from Fort Worth and Arlington. Arlington Water Utilities has operated the system since April 2019.
- Mineral-heavy water: the 2025 report lists total dissolved solids averaging 656 ppm, total alkalinity around 344 ppm and sodium averaging 27.1 ppm, while calcium was low at about 8.6 ppm. Expect white residue on fixtures and deposits in water heaters even though classic calcium hardness is modest.
- Chloramine and fluoride: chloramine averaged 3.25 ppm in 2025, which can wear rubber seals over time. Fluoride averaged 1.61 mg/L, high enough that the city issued a dental fluorosis notice for young children; some families add filtration for drinking water.
- Older infrastructure: Kennedale's history notes the first city water lines went in during 1952 and sewer lines in the early 1960s, so homes in the oldest parts of town can have service lines that are well past their prime.
- Permit rules: Kennedale Building Inspections requires permits for work that changes, moves or repairs plumbing, but not for simple plumbing fixture replacement. Applications are filed online, and the city has adopted the 2018 International Plumbing Code. We pull permits where the city requires them.

Kennedale Neighborhoods We Serve
Kennedale spans everything from post-war homes near the TownCenter to new townhomes, with Sonora Park, Village Creek and Lake Arlington nearby:
- Oak Crest Addition: homes off Oak Crest Dr dating to the late 1940s and 1960s, where old supply lines and drains are often the first thing to check.
- Crestdale #2 Addition: late 1960s houses that are at the age for repiping discussions and sewer line inspections.
- Shady Creek Addition: one-story brick homes from the mid-1980s on half-acre lots, where long water and sewer runs mean more pipe to maintain.
- Brookstone Estates: mid-2000s homes on Estates Dr and Forest Green Dr whose original water heaters may already be due for replacement.
- Falcon Wood Estates: custom homes built from 2005 to 2018 where filtration and tankless upgrades are popular choices.
- Magnolia Hills: newer homes near Collett Sublett Rd, mostly needing fixture and maintenance work.
- Harris Hills Estates and Kennedale Oaks: new townhome communities where first-year fixture adjustments, water heater setup and filtration add-ons are the usual requests.
